What Health Path is, what it isn’t, and what we each agree to — written to be read, not to be survived.
Before you read this: what Health Path is
Health Path is a wellness and self-reflection app. You use it to check in with your mood, keep a private journal, note what you ate if you want to, and get gentle movement ideas. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional care. Section 3 explains this properly — please read it, especially if food or eating feels difficult for you right now.
1. Who provides Health Path, and how to reach them
Health Path is provided by Gabriela Stancheva, a private individual based in Bulgaria (“we”, “us”, “Health Path”). Health Path is not currently registered as a company or sole trader — it is run by one person.
You can reach us at:
Email: support@healthpathapp.comPostal address: 69 Bulgaria Blvd., 1404 Sofia, Bulgaria
Website: https://healthpathapp.com
2. Accepting these terms, and how they can change
By creating an account or using Health Path, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the app.
We may change these terms only for one of the following reasons, and no other:
- to comply with a change in the law that applies to us;
- to reflect a genuine change or addition to how the app works;
- for security reasons, to protect the app or its users;
- to correct an error, or make the terms clearer, without reducing your rights.
When we do, here is how you’ll hear about it. We tell you inside the app. We may also send a short email to your account’s address, but the in-app notice is the one that counts, and the 30 days below run from it.
- The next time you open Health Path after we’ve prepared a change, we will show you a notice you have to actively read and dismiss before you can keep using the app.
- The new terms take effect at least 30 days after that notice was first shown to you — not 30 days after we decided to make the change, and not on a fixed calendar date you might never see.
- If you don’t open the app for a long time, you simply won’t have accepted anything yet. The clock only starts once you’ve actually seen the notice.
- If you keep using Health Path after the new terms take effect, that counts as accepting them.
- If you don’t agree with a change, you can stop using the app and delete your data at any time, free of charge, before the change takes effect.
We will never treat your continued use of the app as acceptance of a change we haven’t actually shown you inside the app.
3. What Health Path is — and what it is not
This is the most important section of this document. Please read it carefully.
3.1 A wellness and self-reflection tool — not a medical device
Health Path is designed for lifestyle and wellbeing purposes. It helps you notice how you’re feeling, keep a private log, and reflect. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, monitor, prevent or treat any illness, disease, disorder or condition, including any eating disorder. It does not evaluate your entries and hand back a judgement, a warning, or a risk score of any kind — everything you log is simply stored and shown back to you, unchanged, for your own reference.
Nothing in Health Path is medical advice. It is general information and a space for your own reflection, not personal advice tailored to your situation. Any decision you make based on something in the app is your own, made using your own judgement.
3.2 Not an emergency or crisis service
Health Path does not monitor what you write for signs of risk, and nobody reviews your entries. It is not built to respond in a crisis, and it cannot get help to you.
If you are in immediate danger, or worried about your safety, please contact one of these instead:
| If | Contact |
|---|---|
| Any emergency, anywhere in the EU | 112 — free, 24/7 |
| You are under 18 and need to talk to someone | 116 111 — Bulgarian National Child Helpline, free, 24/7 |
| You need to talk to someone, in confidence, at any age | 02 492 30 30 — Bulgarian Red Cross Telephone of Trust, Sofia, 24/7 |
| You’d like a line staffed by people trained in eating disorders specifically | +44 808 801 0677 — Beat, a UK eating disorder charity. English-language, not Bulgaria-specific. |
These lines are free and available even if you don’t feel it’s “serious enough.” You don’t need a diagnosis or a reason to call.
3.3 If you have, or are recovering from, an eating disorder
Please read this before you use the food-logging feature. If you have an eating disorder, or are recovering from one, we’d encourage you to talk to your doctor, therapist or another clinician you trust before you start logging food in this app — they know your situation, and we don’t.
The calorie and gram numbers in Health Path are completely optional and off by default. You never have to turn them on, and if you do, you can turn them off again at any time, just as easily. Nothing in the app changes, restricts or judges what you do based on whether this feature is on or off.
If logging food, in any form, ever feels like it’s making things harder rather than easier — we would gently suggest stepping away from that part of the app, and talking to someone.
3.4 General information, not personal advice
Any content in Health Path — articles, movement suggestions, food-group lists, the numbers feature — is general information, curated and fixed, and is not personalised advice about you. We do not use what you log to generate individual recommendations, warnings or advice back to you. Relying on anything in the app is done at your own judgement, not ours.
4. Who can use Health Path
You must be at least 16 years old to use Health Path. By using the app, you confirm you meet this age.
An honest gap. We do not currently have an automatic way to check your age when you sign up. We are building an age-confirmation step, and we’re not going to pretend the gap is closed before it is.
If we learn that someone under 16 is using Health Path, we will close that account and delete the data attached to it within 5 working days.
5. Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Health Path on your own device, for your own personal, non-commercial use. We may only end this licence in the circumstances, and subject to the notice, set out in Section 11 — this licence is not revocable at will.
You agree not to:
- copy, resell, rent, lease or sub-license the app;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notice in the app;
- use the app to build a competing product;
- try to circumvent any technical limit in the app — for example artificially unlocking a paid feature without paying for it, once paid features exist.
You may decompile or reverse-engineer parts of the app only to the extent this is expressly permitted by mandatory law for the purpose of achieving interoperability with another independently created program. We don’t purport to take that right away from you, because EU software law says we can’t.
5a. Your account and keeping it safe
Your account lives on our server, not only on your phone. That is what lets you sign in on a new device and find your entries waiting — see Section 3 of the Privacy Policy. It also means the usual rules about accounts apply, and they are short.
- Keep your password to yourself, and use an email address only you can access. Anyone who has both can read everything you have written.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account while you are the one holding the password. If you think someone else has it, change it in the app immediately — and tell us at support@healthpathapp.com if you think something has gone wrong at our end.
- We will never ask you for your password, by email or any other way. If anyone does, it is not us.
- If you share a phone with someone, they can read anything in the app while you are signed in. Sign out if that matters.
- We can suspend an account if it is being used to attack the service or other users — see Section 11, which limits when we may do that.
- If you forget your password, use “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen. We email a six-digit code to your account’s address; it works for 15 minutes. If you can no longer reach that address, write to support@healthpathapp.com from an address we can connect to the account.
6. Your content — your journal, your diary, your words
Anything you write in Health Path — journal answers, diary entries, notes, everything you log — belongs to you. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of it to us.
Since September 2026, a copy of it is stored on our server so that it survives a lost or replaced phone. That means we do now need your permission to hold it — and this is the whole of the permission we ask for:
You give us permission to store your content, back it up, and send it back to your own devices. That is all. It is limited to running Health Path for you, it lasts only as long as your account does, and it ends when you delete your content or your account.
To be unambiguous about what we are not allowed to do with your words, because these are diaries and the answer should not require reading between lines:
- We will not read your entries except in the narrow case where we genuinely cannot fix a fault or answer a request you have made without doing so — and we would tell you.
- We will not use them to train any AI or machine-learning system, ours or anyone else’s. Not anonymised, not aggregated, not “to improve the product”.
- We will not sell, rent, share or license them to anybody.
- We will not publish, display, or quote them anywhere — not in marketing, not as an example, not in an app-store screenshot.
- We will not analyse them to profile you, target anything at you, or make any automated judgement about you.
- We claim no right to keep using them after you leave. Delete your account and the permission above ends with it.
If we ever wanted to do any of those things, we would have to ask you separately and you would be free to say no.
7. Our content and intellectual property
Everything else in Health Path — the app itself, its design, the articles, the illustrations, the character, the curated food-group lists, and the Health Path name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law.
You may view and use this content inside the app for your own personal use. You may not copy, redistribute, publish or create derivative works from it without our written permission.
8. Availability
Writing in Health Path does not depend on us being available. The app stores your entries on your own phone first and reads them back from there, so it keeps working with no signal, on a plane, or while our server is down. Signing in and syncing are the parts that need us.
What we run, and what we do not promise. Our server is a single machine, run by one person, with no standby and no failover. We do not promise any level of uptime, and we would rather say that than publish a number we cannot keep. In practice, if the server is unreachable, the app carries on and syncs later; what you lose during an outage is the backup, not the app.
We don’t guarantee that Health Path will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or every future version of Android. We also don’t promise that we will keep developing the app, release updates, or release new versions — Health Path is currently maintained by one person, and we want to be honest about what that means rather than promise something we can’t be sure to keep.
If we ever decide to stop running Health Path, we will not simply switch the server off and leave you with nothing. We will tell you inside the app, give you at least 30 days, and provide a way to get your entries out — and the copy on your own phone stays yours regardless. If we shut the service down, your data on our server is deleted: not sold, not transferred to a buyer as an asset, and not left running unattended.
9. Limitation of liability
This is the most carefully worded section in this document, because Bulgarian and EU consumer law don’t allow anyone to simply say “we’re not liable for anything.” A clause that tried to say that would be partly void — and a partly void clause protects nobody. So here is what actually applies.
What we are not liable for
- indirect or consequential losses — for example lost opportunity, lost enjoyment, or consequential financial loss — arising from your use of the app;
- loss or corruption of data that had not yet reached our server — for example entries you wrote while the app was offline, on a phone that was then lost, stolen, damaged or reset before it next connected;
- loss of data caused by an outage or failure of our server, beyond what our own negligence in running it makes us responsible for. To be clear about what we are not excluding: if we lose your entries through our own carelessness, this bullet does not protect us — the paragraph below on ordinary negligence is what applies;
- anything caused by your own decisions based on the app’s general content, since none of it is personal advice (see Section 3.4).
Where we are liable
For a proven loss caused by our own ordinary negligence or breach of these terms, our total liability to you is limited to EUR 100 — reflecting that Health Path is a free app today. This figure was fixed on 15 August 2026 and will only be revised going forward, with 30 days’ notice under Section 2 — never retroactively for a claim that already exists.
This cap applies to claims for damages. It does not limit or replace your right, once you have paid for a feature, to have it brought into conformity, to a price reduction, or to end that specific purchase for lack of conformity. Those remedies exist independently of this cap and cannot be limited by this section.
Where we became aware, through our own research, of a specific risk connected to a feature, and did not implement an available safeguard within a reasonable time, this section does not limit our liability for that delay.
What this section can never limit
Nothing here limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our own act or omission;
- our own fraud or intentional wrongdoing;
- our own gross negligence;
- anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the law that protects you as a consumer.
Your other statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this section.
10. If something goes wrong because of how you used the app
If you break these terms, use the app illegally, or knowingly misuse it in a way that causes us to face a claim, cost or loss from someone else because of that specific misuse, you agree to cover the reasonable, direct cost this causes us. This does not apply to ordinary use of the app as intended, and does not apply to anything that was our fault.
11. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Health Path, and delete your account and all your data, at any time, free of charge, from Manage Profile inside the app. That deletes your account and every entry belonging to it from our server as well as from your phone — immediately, not “within 30 days”, and not hidden-but-retained. The only exception is our rolling database backups, which keep a copy for up to 30 days before it rolls off; the Privacy Policy’s retention section explains that.
Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete your account, because the copy on the server is the point of having one. If you want everything gone, delete the account before uninstalling — or write to support@healthpathapp.com afterwards and we will do it.
We may suspend or end your access immediately only for a serious reason — for example illegal use of the app, a security risk, or a serious breach of these terms. For any other reason, we will give you at least 14 days’ notice first, shown to you inside the app.
If we end your access, we will not delete your entries as a punishment: you keep the copy on your own phone, and we will give you a way to get the copy on the server before it is removed. Suspending an account for a security reason is not the same as erasing someone’s diary, and we will not treat it as if it were.
12. Payments
Nothing in this section applies today. Health Path is free, and there is no paid feature or in-app purchase. It is written in advance so that if that ever changes, the terms are already right rather than rewritten under time pressure.
If Health Path introduces a paid feature or subscription in the future, the following will apply to that specific purchase.
Price and what you get. Before you pay, we will clearly show the price including any applicable tax, what the purchase gives you, and how payment works, through Google Play’s purchase flow.
Your 14-day right to cancel, and its limit for digital content. As a consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase without giving a reason. For digital content that starts working immediately after purchase, EU and Bulgarian law let us ask you to give up that 14-day right in exchange for instant access — but only if we ask clearly, and only if you actively agree. Before you pay, we will show you a separate, unticked checkbox like this:
Buying the feature and ticking this box will be two separate actions — we won’t combine them into one click. If you don’t tick it, you keep your normal 14-day cancellation right, and access may be delayed until that period ends or you separately confirm you want it sooner.
Confirmation. We will show you confirmation of your purchase, including these terms, on a durable record such as a receipt, within a reasonable time.
Refunds. Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are handled under Google Play’s own refund policy, alongside your statutory rights described above.
If you cancel a subscription. You can cancel a renewing subscription at any time through Google Play. It will stop renewing from the next billing period, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Keeping the feature working. For as long as we offer a paid feature, we will provide it in line with what we described when you bought it, and provide reasonably necessary updates, including security updates, for as long as we continue to offer it.
If we change the price of an ongoing subscription. We will give you advance notice, and you will be able to cancel before the new price applies, free of charge.
13. Governing law and how disputes are handled
These terms are governed by Bulgarian law, and Health Path is provided from Bulgaria.
If you live in Bulgaria, which is where Health Path is offered, any dispute between us belongs before the Bulgarian courts.
If you live elsewhere in the EU or EEA, Bulgarian law still governs these terms, but it does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live. Where that law gives you more protection, that protection still applies to you — we cannot contract out of it, and we are not trying to.
In that case you may bring a claim either in the courts of Bulgaria or in the courts of the country where you live; the choice is yours, and EU law gives it to you regardless of what this document says. We will only ever bring a claim against you in the courts of the country where you live. If a dispute does arise, we may both agree at that point to have it decided in Bulgaria — an agreement made after a dispute has arisen is valid, unlike one made in advance.
If you live outside the EU or EEA, these terms are governed by Bulgarian law, and any dispute may be brought in the courts of Bulgaria, unless the mandatory law of your own country gives you a right to sue elsewhere that we cannot lawfully exclude.
Before going to court, you’re welcome to contact us directly at support@healthpathapp.com — most things can be sorted out without needing to. If you’re a consumer in Bulgaria and we can’t resolve something between us, you can also bring the dispute to:
Обща помирителна комисия към Комисия за защита на потребителитеGeneral Conciliation Commission, Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission
ул. „Врабча“ № 1, ет. 3, 4 и 5, 1000 София
Email: adr.sofia@kzp.bg
If you live in another EU or EEA country, you can find your own country’s equivalent dispute-resolution body through the European Commission’s Consumer Redress directory at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
14. A few general terms
If one part of these terms turns out to be invalid, unenforceable, or unfair to you, only that part stops applying — the rest continues to apply in full. We will not replace the invalid part with different wording chosen by us; if a valid replacement is needed, it will only be a provision the law itself supplies, decided by a court or the applicable statute, never by us unilaterally.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about using Health Path. They replace any earlier discussion or version.
If we don’t act on a breach immediately, that doesn’t mean we’ve given up the right to act on it later.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms — for example if Health Path is ever passed to someone else to run — but only in a way that doesn’t reduce your rights under this document. Anyone taking it over inherits every promise in Section 6 about what may and may not be done with your writing, and we would tell you inside the app before it happened, so that you could delete your account first if you would rather not be handed over with it. You may not transfer your account or licence to anyone else.
Notices. We reach you inside the app, and by email to your account’s address for things about your account: a password-reset code you asked for, a code to confirm your address, and a warning before an unused account is deleted. The Privacy Policy lists these emails in full. We never use your address for marketing. You can contact us at support@healthpathapp.com.
